Spring into Centers!

Let’s get back into the swing of spring with some awesome centers! Measuring is so much fun! Click here for “Are We There Yet?” then click here for “Measuring Tools.” Let’s spend some money when we go out to lunch in DISNEY WORLD! Take a stroll down Magic kingdom’s Main Street and eat at Casey’s Corner! Become a star at the Hollywood Derby! Get your snorkel and go to Coral Reef Restaurant! If you have already had lunch, get ready to be petrified by patterns and solve some Spooky Sequences.

Learning with M&M's

This week marks the beginning of a new math chapter on graphing, statistics, and probability. The students will be learning how to find the mean, median, mode, and range of a set of numbers. They will also be creating and examining the different types of graphs. Next week, we will focus on probability.

To help "sweeten" these concepts, we will use M&M's! Today, we began our M&M's project by predicting, counting, sorting, and recording data. Later in the week, we will use our data to create different types of graphs on the computer. We will also visit the official M&M's site to learn more and have a little fun with our favorite candy.

Digging Decimals

We began decimals last week! Here are some concepts that we need to practice: naming decimals, comparing decimals, ordering decimals, adding decimals and subtracting decimals. Have fun!
